This Privacy Policy explains how JC Mirza Investments Pty Limited as trustee for The JC Mirza Trust, trading as PoolBuddy ("PoolBuddy", "we", "us", "our"), handles personal information when you use the PoolBuddy mobile app, the poolbuddy.app website, and related products and services (together, the "Services"). By using the Services you consent to the practices described in this policy.

1. Information we collect

• Account details — the email address and basic profile you use to register or sign in (including via a third-party sign-in provider, if you choose one).
• Pool data — water-quality readings collected by your PoolBuddy device, and the pool details you enter in the app (such as pool volume and type).
• Content you choose to send us — messages and any photos you deliberately attach when using optional in-app assistance features.
• Order information — your name, email and order confirmation when you purchase from our website. Payment card details are collected by our payment provider and are never visible to us.
• Technical data — basic device, app version and diagnostic information needed to operate and troubleshoot the Services.

2. How we use information

• Provide and operate the Services, including displaying your pool status and history.
• Personalise guidance and respond to your requests.
• Fulfil orders, process payments and manage subscriptions.
• Communicate with you about your account, orders, and important service or policy updates.
• Maintain the security, integrity and performance of the Services, and comply with legal obligations.

3. When we share information

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information. We share information only in these limited circumstances:

• Service providers who help us operate the Services — including payment processing, cloud hosting, artificial-intelligence processing, device connectivity, and identity/sign-in services (these include, without limitation, Stripe, Google, Apple, Tuya and Cloudflare). Providers may process your information only as needed to deliver their services to us and under their own privacy terms.
• Legal requirements — where disclosure is required by law, regulation or valid legal process, or to protect the rights, property or safety of PoolBuddy, our users or the public.
• Business transfers — in connection with a merger, sale or reorganisation, subject to this policy continuing to apply.

4. Data storage and security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information against loss, misuse and unauthorised access, alteration or destruction, and we limit access to those who need it to operate the Services. However, no method of transmission or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

5. Retention

We retain personal information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Services, and thereafter only as required for legitimate business purposes such as record-keeping, warranty, dispute resolution and compliance with legal obligations. When information is no longer required, we take reasonable steps to delete or de-identify it.

6. Your rights and choices

You may request access to the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or ask us to stop using it, by contacting us at the address below. We will respond within a reasonable time and as required by applicable law. Depending on where you live, you may have additional statutory rights — for example, under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) in Australia, including the right to complain to the relevant regulator.

7. Children

The Services are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it promptly.

By using the Services you understand that your information may be processed in countries other than your own, where data-protection laws may differ. We take steps to ensure your information receives an adequate level of protection wherever it is processed.
